Keta belongs to Authors Against e-Piracy. As you know since the explosion of e-books on the market, e-piracy has been a horrendous problem for authors. Perhaps readers don't know the consequences of e-piracy.
E-piracy takes money (our bread and butter) right out of our pockets.
E-piracy in 2009 amounted to 3 BILLION in lost sales for authors.
If E-piracy continues at this rate, authors will be forced to stop producing e-books or publishers will encrypt the books with code, making it impossible for readers to share, but also making it harder for readers to use on multiple e-readers.
All books (including e-books) are copyrighted. People uploading, transferring, selling, copying or sharing an e-book can be fined $250,000. E-piracy is the same as stealing.
